checked.coupons (the “Site,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a coupon-curation service built on WordPress. The Site is hosted by netcup GmbH in Karlsruhe, Germany, and runs a cookieless, self-hosted installation of Matomo Analytics.
2. Why This Policy Exists
Florida’s Digital Bill of Rights (SB 262) took effect on July 1 2024 and grants Florida residents new privacy rights. Even though the law mainly applies to companies earning over $1 billion per year, we voluntarily extend comparable rights to all U.S. users. We also comply with:
- Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA), Fla. Stat. § 501.171
- Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA)
- Relevant U.S. federal laws (e.g., COPPA for children under 13)
- EU GDPR for data stored on our German servers

5. No Sale or Cross-Site Tracking
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data for money or “valuable consideration,” and we do not engage in cross-site targeted advertising.
6. Your Rights (Florida Residents)
Regardless of revenue thresholds, Florida residents may:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (with narrow legal exceptions)
- Receive a portable copy of your data
- Opt out of future sale / sharing (we don’t do either)
- Appeal if we deny your request
We will reply within 45 days (with one 15-day extension if needed).
7. How to Exercise Your Rights
Email ronny@checked.coupons with the subject line “Florida Privacy Request.” We’ll verify your identity via a one-time email code.
8. Analytics, Cookies & Similar Tech

Because we use functional or aggregate-only cookies, Florida law does not require an opt-in banner. You can still block cookies in your browser.
9. Data Sharing & International Transfers
Your data lives on servers in Germany and is processed under GDPR-level safeguards. Access is limited to our small U.S.-based team and a few vetted service providers (email host, off-site backups). Standard Contractual Clauses are in place where required.
10. Security
We protect data with TLS 1.3 encryption, strict firewall rules, regular updates, and least-privilege access controls. No system is 100 % secure, but we follow industry best practices.

12. Breach Notification
If personal information of 500+ Florida residents is breached, we’ll notify affected individuals and the Florida Department of Legal Affairs within 30 days (or within 45 days if we request a permissible 15-day extension).
13. Children
This Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn we have, we’ll delete it promptly and comply with COPPA and Florida law.
14. Non-Discrimination
We will never deny goods, services, or pricing because you exercised your privacy rights.
15. Changes to This Policy
We review this notice at least once a year. Any updates will appear here with a fresh “Last updated” date. Major changes will be announced on-site.
